Keto Lens — Privacy Policy

Keto Lens ("the app", "we", "us") lets you photograph food, a nutrition label, or a menu and get a keto-friendliness assessment. This page explains what information the app collects, how it's used, and who it's shared with.

What we collect

• Account information. If you sign in, we collect your email address and a securely hashed password, and, if you set one, a display name. This is stored and managed by our authentication provider, Supabase.
• Photos you submit. When you check a food, label, or menu, the photo is sent to Google's Gemini AI to generate the analysis. We do not permanently store your photos on our servers — they are processed to produce a result and are not retained by us afterward. Google processes this data under its own privacy terms as our AI subprocessor.
• Usage counts. We record how many checks your account has used each day, to apply the free daily limit and to confirm unlimited access for subscribers.
• Billing information. If you subscribe, payment is handled entirely by Stripe. We never see or store your card details — we only receive confirmation of your subscription status from Stripe.
• Locally on your device. Your check history and daily carb goal are stored in your browser's local storage on your own device. This is not sent to or stored on our servers, and is not synced across devices.

Who we share data with

We use a small number of service providers to run the app, each acting as a data processor on our behalf:

• Google (Gemini API) — analyzes the photo you submit to produce a keto verdict.
• Supabase — hosts our authentication system and account database.
• Stripe — processes subscription payments.
• Vercel — hosts the app itself.

We do not sell your personal information to anyone, and we do not share it for advertising purposes.

How long we keep data

Account and usage data is kept for as long as your account exists. You can delete your account at any time from the app's Settings screen, which permanently removes your profile and usage records. Deleting your account does not automatically cancel an active subscription — please cancel that separately through Stripe or by contacting us.

Your choices

• You can edit or remove your display name at any time in Settings.
• You can change your password at any time in Settings.
• You can clear your locally stored check history at any time from within the app, or by clearing your browser's site data.
• You can delete your account entirely from Settings.

Children's privacy

Keto Lens is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, we'll update the date at the top of this page. Continued use of the app after a change means you accept the updated policy.
